I know I make fun of Denver quite a bit, calling it a small town when compared to cities like Chicago, but the truth is that Denver is becoming quite a multicultural city. I reflected on this the other day as I biked past an Ethiopian church, where a memorial service was just letting out. This diversity makes the city a much more interesting place to live. Even the much maligned - by me - Californians have made Denver a more interesting place than it was back in 1981, when I moved here. Of course, we did have to suffer through a decade or so of "Valley Girls" and "Valley Girl Speak." What ever happened to them, by the way? Did they move back to California?
