Derek has rejoined the DU Bookstore as a rush cashier. As faithful readers may recall, Derek used to be a loss prevention assistant at the Bookstore. He would catch shoplifters, taser them, and then throw them up against the wall and frisk them. Sometimes he would interrogate these suspects in the loss prevention office for hours. The new management at the Bookstore does not allow employees to do this to its customers - only to its staff members - and what fun is that? Derek has therefore opted to become a cashier.
