My friend Stuart and I had a philosophical discussion tonight at the Old Chicago Restaurant in Lakewood. It is amazing how much easier it is to figure out the problems of the world after two or three pints. In any case, I am currently reading "The Geography of Bliss," and mentioned how happy the people of Iceland are. Stuart countered that if possible, he would move to Hobart on the island of Tasmania tomorrow. Stuart cited the friendliness of the people, the lower cost of living, and the beauty of the countryside. I suggested that Lincoln, Nebraska would provide exactly the same benefits, with the added bonus of being 5,000 miles closer. Stuart wasn't convinced, and won't be house-hunting in Lincoln anytime soon. Go figure.
