My friend Marty, who like me was recently laid off by the DU Bookstore (now run by the Follett Corporation), played guitar with his band "The Fifty-Two 80's" last Thursday at a benefit concert for Runyon Elementary School. It was a tremendous success and they quickly raised the 4 million dollars they were seeking (Littleton, Colorado must be a very affluent town). Or maybe it was 4 thousand. That is not my point. The point is, the Fifty-Two 80's have ANOTHER GIG. It will be at the Bannock Street Garage (bannockstreetgarage.com) Saturday night, May 18th. Perhaps they will even offer free beers with every oil change. As they say, be there or be square. Or do they still say that?
