A Death In Cornwall

I just finished reading A Death in Cornwall, Daniel Silva's latest Gabriel Allon thriller. Silva writes a very good mystery, and this novel is no exception. It begins as Allon visits London to attend a reception celebrating the return of a stolen self-portrait by Vincent van Gogh, which Allon had a major hand in recovering. While there, he gets a request from a Devon and Cornwall police detective, an old friend who Allon knew as a boy, to come to Cornwall to help investigate the murder of an art historian. This art historian was hired to find a Picasso that was looted during the Holocaust, and when the rightful heir to the painting, who hired her, dies in Paris under mysterious circumstances, Allon realizes there is a very dangerous adversary out there that must be stopped. He assembles a team to find both the painting and the killers, and soon learns it is a much more sinister conspiracy than originally thought. This book moves at a very quick pace, and I found it a very enjoyable, exciting read. I recommend you pick up a copy today.
