My sister Susan and I arrived back in Denver last night and are looking forward to a summer full of activities, including the Furry Scurry in Washington Park and the Cinco de Mayo Festival in Civic Center Park this weekend. We will also be attending a baseball game between the Colorado Rockies and Detroit Tigers at Coors Field with my friend Mark next week. The Rockies are currently the worst team in baseball, with a 4-24 record and a .143 winning percentage. Mark is a Detroit Tigers fan, and for that matter actually likes Detroit, but I myself like Des Moines, Iowa, and so who am I to judge? Detroit has the third best record in baseball right now and leads their division by 2 1/2 games. I wonder how that will work out for the Rockies next week? The photograph above of the Denver skyline, by the way, was taken this past January, which explains the snow on the ground. Hopefully that scene will not repeat itself in May, although it has happened. In any case, let the summer festival season begin!
