Noah, one of the most faithful readers of my blog, used up his last few hours of FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) parental leave this time period. After approximately 40 weeks off to care for his newborn child, he is back to working his regular schedule at the DU Bookstore. When I asked Noah about how this will affect him, he replied that he still has 5 weeks of vacation time to use. If the DU Bookstore Director had only followed my advice, we would have fired all of our employees, and rehired them as unbenefited part-time workers. Then we wouldn't have this problem. So much for thinking outside the box.
