Jan (pictured on the left) is a seasoned veteran of the the DU Bookstore's rush periods, while Emily (pictured on the right) is a new student employee. They are both enjoying the tail end of rush, when most of the time things are very quiet, interrupted only by the occasional frenetic on-rush of hundreds or maybe thousands of customers. We at the DU Bookstore have always suspected that groups of students wait outside the Bookstore for a critical mass of customers to be achieved, before descending on the store. After almost 28 years at the DU Bookstore, nothing has ever been discovered disproving this theory.
