It was only last week that Donald Trump hosted a Great Gatsby-themed Halloween party at Mar-a-Lago, his resort and estate in Palm Beach, Florida. According to press reports, the liquor was flowing and tables laden with food just hours before food assistance would run out for 42 million Americans. Not to mention the 1 million federal workers who are currently furloughed or working without pay. But just a week later he's back, just in time for the final day of the Conservative Political Action Conference's annual Circle Retreat and Gala. Oh joy! Another gala! Just yesterday my sister Susan and I drove past Mar-a-Lago, the entrance to which can be seen in the photograph above, and workers could be seen all over the estate, getting it ready for His Majesty. I mean the President. I imagine the CPAC Gala will be much different than the Gatsby-themed party. Perhaps more like the court of Louis XVI? Just sayin'.
