Roddy, the University of Denver photography professor, had a 4th of July barbecue Sunday evening. It was a pretty rainy night, but there were enough dry periods for some sparklers and "snakes." Then the neighbor from across the street came over with some old bottle rockets (possibly Russian in origin) for us to shoot off. One of Roddy's guests did the honors, shooting the bottle rockets onto the various roofs of the neighbors. Fortunately the rains started again and any small fires were quickly extinguished.
