A DU Bookstore Author Signing!

Steve Fisher, author of "University Park and South Denver" and a new book, "A Brief History of South Denver and University Park," was at the DU Bookstore this afternoon for an author signing.  Steve is also an Associate Professor and a Curator at the University of Denver's Penrose Library.  It was great to talk with Steve about the various changes that have taken place in the DU neighborhood over the years - buildings that have been lost and buildings that are amazingly still here.  One thing I learned today was that the "Historic Buchtel Trail" is historic because it is the site of the old Texas and Gulf Railroad, not because it was the path the early yuppies took in the 1980s while jogging to Denver's Washington Park.  Who would have thunk it?
