The University of Denver Bookstore was closed today - it is open Monday, Wednesday & Friday this week - and so I naturally wound up this afternoon at the Tattered Cover Bookstore in Lower Downtown Denver. The place was packed, and there was actually a crowd at the cash registers, everyone no doubt using up their Christmas gift cards. This is in contrast to the DU Bookstore, where the employees are undisturbed by customers this week as the holiday muzak drives them to the final stages of madness.
