I took the light rail downtown tonight to see the 9 o'clock fireworks show on Denver's 16th street mall. Who should I run into but Wally from the DU Bookstore (on the left in the top photograph), his wife Linda (on the right in the top photograph), and a friend of theirs (in the middle). I was really surprised, since Wally told me he hated going out on New year's Eve and intended to spend the night at home reading his Churchill tomes. Last year, I was watching news coverage of New Year's Eve in Denver and thought I saw Wally and Linda climbing a light pole in Larimer Square - buck naked I might add - but Wally insisted that wasn't them. Now I'm not so sure. Happy New Year Everyone!
