I went to the Tattered Cover last night to hear mystery writer C.J. Box (seen in the photograph above) speak and sign copies of his latest Joe Pickett novel Breaking Point. This is the 13th book in the series featuring Pickett, a game warden in Wyoming. Most of the audience appeared to consist of ex-Wyomingians who now live here in Denver. In my opinion, that tells you everything you need to know about Wyoming, although Box still lives there with his family just outside of Cheyenne. In any case, he gave a very good talk. Not only that, it turns out that he is a University of Denver graduate. My alma mater! Best of all, he has a character in several of his books named Cody Hoyt. What's not to like?
